Overview

The LAUNCH Leadership Course aims to help Grades 10-12 students grow in character, leadership skills and spiritual formation. There will be 12 instructional days, 1:1 coaching time and the students get to apply their leadership skills through executing a Community Impact Project.

Character Building: Students will increase  their self awareness through utilizing various leadership assessment tools. They meet monthly with an experienced coach who will keep them accountable in their character development goals as well as help them launch their Community Impact Projects.

Leadership Development: The course covers important leadership skills which include: vision casting, goal setting, team building, decision making, conflict management, and time management. It also focuses on communication online and in-person to better prepare students to lead teams both virtually and in-person. 

Spiritual Formation: Taught from a Christian perspective, the course aims to provide a safe space for students to explore their spirituality and see how faith is relevant to the changing times. Students are challenged to serve the communities they belong to. The Community Impact Project will allow students to practically apply what they have learned and use it to serve others. 80% of our alumni continue to serve in leadership roles in their church and communities upon completion of the course. Our desire is to see our students adopt serving as a lifestyle. 

Community: This online course allows students all over Ontario to meet and learn from one another. They will be followed up by staff regarding serving opportunities and possible internship with Youth Unlimited.

Accreditation: Upon completion of this 110-hour instructional program, students will receive one full Grade 11 Ontario High School credit (GPP 30 Leadership and Peer Support) from our partner school - Cornerstone Montessori Prep School in Toronto.

Who can apply: Students from Grades 10-12 can apply for this course.

What can be expected: 12 interactive online classes, meeting with experienced coaches, and completing a Community Impact Project. Students are required to log 110 hours in total to obtain the school credit by working on reflection journals and assignments in between class sessions.  Optional retreat and service trip should covid restrictions be lifted.

Where: Due to COVID, this course will be fully online for the fall & spring semester.
